Currently, we are completing most of our legal work remotely, pursuant to the Governor’s Directive.
We will access our physical offices to provide legal services that cannot be practically completed through the use of advanced communication technologies, services that are being rendered to comply with court directives or deadlines and services that meet needs that are critical to a client’s health or safety.
These services include, but are not limited to, matters of healthcare, incompetence, incapacitation, end-of-life decision making, government benefits necessary to sustain life and access healthcare and income, or legal functions necessary for the operation of government at all levels.
Lawyers and staff will adhere to all safety orders related to COVID-19 issued by the Secretary of Health.

JUDICIAL EMERGENCY EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 31, 2020
On October 19, 2020, the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas extended the existing Judicial Emergency until December 31, 2020, or until further Order of the Court.
Highlights of the October 19, 2020 Order are found below.
- The Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas and Lancaster County Magisterial Courts are open to conduct all court business subject to protocols and procedures that limit, as much as possible, all in-person access and proceedings.
- While Court facilities will to conduct all judicial services, Court facilities re still closed to the public as more fully set forth on the Court’s website.
- Criminal jury trials are continued until September 30, 2020. Thereafter, trials will be held, provided they can be conducted safely and consistent with prevailing health and safety norms.
- Each presiding Magisterial District (MDJ) Court may conduct business as it determines to be appropriate and feasible. Current protocol for MDJ Courts may be found online by clicking here.
- Face masks are required to be worn to enter any court facility and must remain on while in court. Bring your own mask.
- Individuals entering any court facility shall be required to follow the PA Department of Health guidelines, including appropriate social distancing, wearing protective face masks in common areas, and complying with safety directives provided by the Court or County staff.
- Detailed protocols for handling of cases and copies of all Court Orders may be found on the Court’s website, which is frequently updated.
