Shawnee S. Burton is a founding partner of Lancaster Law Group, joining forces with Joseph McMahon in 2015. Shawnee’s entire career has been focused on complex Family Law litigation. With almost 20 years of experience, she has extensive knowledge in Custody, Divorce, Prenuptial Agreements, Alimony, and Support matters.

A Lancaster County native, Shawnee graduated from the New England School of Law in Boston in 2005. After practicing Family Law in the greater Boston Area for a short time, Shawnee moved back Lancaster County and immediately immersed herself in the legal community. Shawnee has built a reputation as an attorney who genuinely cares about your family and is willing to fight zealously for your children. In addition to her regular practice before the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas, Shawnee also files and defends successful appeals in the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.

Shawnee is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, where she is member of the Family Law Section Council, and the Lancaster Bar Association where she is the former chair of the family law section.  Shawnee is certified in collaborative law.  Shawnee has also served in the court as a guardian ad litem where she represented the best interests of children in custody matters, and as a parenting coordinator where she has assisted parents by mediating minor custody disputes.

Shawnee resides in Manheim Township with her family. When she is not litigating Family Law cases, she enjoys spending time with her children, baking, and traveling with her husband.
